Beurré Giffard

Beurré Giffard The fruit is conical, pyriform and rather small. It can weigh from 120 to 125 grams, be up to 83 millimetres in height and have a calibre of 55 to 60 millimetres. Its stem can range from medium to long, of medium thickness, straight and of vertical insertion. The peduncular cavity is not present. Its calyx is open or partially open. Its epidermis is smooth, light green to yellowish in colour with a pink tinge in sun facing surfaces and numerous lenticels. The flesh is white, with a grainy texture, consistent, very sweet and with excellent flavour, slightly acid and of good orgaleptic quality.

Williams The fruit is pyriform, with a defined waist, medium to large sized. It can weigh from 230 to 235 grams and it can be 105 millimetres in height; it can have a calibre of 63 millimetres. The latter varies with the predominant seasonal weather conditions: in warm years, the fruit is more flat, and elongated in cold summers. Its stem is of medium size and thickness, partly ligneous and of oblique insertion. The peduncular cavity is somewhat deep and the calyx is partially closed. Its skin is fine and delicate, of a light green colour that turns to an attractive yellow colour when it ripens, sometimes with a pink tinge in sun facing surfaces, dotted with numerous easily identifiable lenticels. The pulp is white, with a fine texture, typically aromatic, very juicy, sweet and slightly acid and grainy. It has very good orgaleptic quality.

The skin is smooth, partly covered in purplish red that turns to carmine as it ripens, more intense in the face exposed to sunlight and consistent for the whole tree, with a tendency to regression on occasions. The pulp is white, with a fine texture, compact, aromatic, very juicy, sweet and moderately acid, slightly grainy with all the orgaleptic characteristics of any green Williams pear.

Beurré D'anjou

Beurré D'anjou The fruit is pyriform, short and with a shape similar to that of a balloon with a wide base, medium to large sized. It can weigh from 270 to 285 grams, be 85 millimetres in height and have a calibre of 80 centimetres. Its stem is short, thick, somewhat fleshy and cleaved in the apex; the calyx is open.
